These terms apply to your use of robertsortep.com and any purchase you make from it. The site is run by Robert Sortep (“I,” “me,” “my”). By visiting the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms, so please read them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

About the shop
I sell art prints and greeting cards of my original illustrations. Prints and cards are printed on archival quality paper with pigment inks. Because screens differ and every printer interprets color slightly differently, the colors you see on your screen may vary a little from the printed piece, and I can’t guarantee an exact match.

Orders and payment
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy, and an order is only accepted once I confirm it by email or ship it. I may cancel or refuse an order, for example if an item is out of stock, there is a pricing error, or I suspect fraud, and if I do I will refund anything you paid. All prices are shown and charged in US dollars (USD). Prices may change at any time, but a change won’t affect an order you’ve already placed. Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal, and you agree to provide accurate payment and shipping information.

Discounts
Discount codes, including welcome offers from my email signup, are limited to one use per customer unless I say otherwise, can’t be combined with other offers, and have no cash value. I may change or end a promotion at any time. Quantity pricing on cards is applied automatically in your cart.

Processing and shipping
I ship from the United States. Please allow up to 6 business days for me to prepare and ship your order, not including transit time. Orders over $45 ship free within the US, and smaller US orders pay a flat shipping fee shown at checkout. Shipping to Canada and other countries is available at the rates shown at checkout. Delivery times depend on the carrier and your location, so any estimates are not guarantees. Once an order is handed to the carrier, it is in their hands, but if your package is lost or arrives damaged, contact me and I will work with you to make it right. Please double check your shipping address before ordering, since I can’t be responsible for packages sent to an incorrect address you provided.International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, and fees charged by their country, and these are not included in the price you pay at checkout. Delays caused by customs are outside my control.

Returns and damaged items
I don’t accept returns or exchanges, including for change of mind, because items are printed for your order. The exception is an item that arrives damaged from shipping. If that happens, email me at shop@robertsortep.com within 30 days of the day you received your order, include your order number and clear photos of the damage and the packaging, and I will replace the item or refund you. Please keep the packaging until your claim is resolved. If you are in the EU or UK, nothing in these terms limits any legal rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived, including rights around cancellation and faulty goods.

Copyright and use of artwork
All artwork, images, text, and designs on this site and on the products I sell are my original work and are protected by copyright. Buying a print or card gives you ownership of that physical item only, not the copyright. You may display it, give it as a gift, and share photos of it online with credit to me. You may not copy, reproduce, scan, or sell the artwork, use it on products or merchandise, use it for commercial purposes, or use it to train or build AI or machine learning models, without my written permission. If you’d like to license my work, please get in touch.

Using the site
You agree not to use the site for anything unlawful, to try to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, to submit false information, or to copy or scrape its content. I may suspend or block access if these terms are broken.

Commissions
Custom commissions are handled separately under their own written agreement, and these terms apply only to standard shop orders.

Links to other sites
The site may link to other websites, such as social media. I don’t control those sites and am not responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimers and limits of liability
I do my best to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided “as is,” and I can’t promise it will always be error free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from your use of the site or products, and my total liability for any claim related to an order will not be more than the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t legally be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Privacy
How I handle your personal information is explained in my Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of that state, except where the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

Changes
I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply to orders placed after they are posted.
